On your travels with us, we will fill you in on the history, folklore, geology and current information about the areas we visit. Our local guides will see to it that no question you have about your day tour to Connemara and Galway goes unanswered. If they don't know something, they will find out for you by the end of the day. Return to Dublin in the evening to reminisce about your exhilarating experience over a cool pint of the black stuff!

Day 1

Meet your guide and fellow travellers at the Molly Malone Statue on Suffolk Street. We will make our way west out of Dublin city, heading for Galway as our adventure begins.

Arrive in Galway for a comfort stop before hitting the coast road. If we have any passengers to pick up from Galway, we will be departing Galway city at 9:30 am.

We take the scenic road from Galway towards Oughterard - the gateway to Connemara. Look out the window and be amazed by the stunning scenery as we pass through quaint villages on the way. The views are simply breathtaking and this is one of the most beautiful locations in Ireland. Connemara is unique in that it has no official boundaries to let you know that you are in Connemara, you just know you're there! The beauty of the landscape lets you know you have arrived. Not far into our journey, you will see the famous bridge that was used in the film, 'The Quiet Man' starring John Wayne. It's a lovely photo opportunity!

Time to visit the only Fjord in Ireland: 'Killary Fjord'. Enjoy the views across the water of Mweelrea, the highest mountain range on the west coast and marvel at the mussel beds in the harbour. During the high season (April - October) this tour includes a one and a half hour boat cruise around Killary Harbour. Your lunch stop will be on the boat during these months.  During the low season ( November - March ) the boat cruise does not run but instead we will visit the Killary Sheep Farm, a traditional farm with approximately 200 ewes and lambs that roam freely around the fjord. You will be given a skilled sheepdog demonstration and told about how the people and the livestock cope with the barren land and the harsh weather.

After your farm visit, a bicycle will be delivered and will be waiting for you to roam around Killary and further afield, if you are feeling energetic. Perhaps cycle to Little Killary or across to the Mayo side of the fjord to see Ashleigh Falls or Bundorragha and the famous Delphi fishery. The bicycle is yours until 12.00 pm the following day when it will be collected from the Kylemore Pass hotel.

Day 2

Breakfast is at the Kylemore Pass Hotel and then you are free to explore the majestic surroundings for the morning. Remember to bring your bike back to the Lodge and then be ready to meet the bus for a 12pm departure outside the Sheep and Wool Museum. Please be there 10 minutes before departure.

We will travel through the fabulous Inagh Valley, which was featured in the mobile phone advertisement, "Can you hear me now?", a line every Irish person says when reception is poor. This is a beautiful area, filled with mesmerising views. The photo opportunities are endless! Next stop is Kylemore Abbey, once a prestigious girls boarding school. It now homes nuns on retreat and welcomes tourists from around the world. The abbey is situated at the base of the Druchruach mountains with views out to the northern shore of Lough Pollacapall. The views are breathtaking, relax and absorb the history and pure beauty here.

Next on the list is the village of Leenane where the iconic film "The Field" was shot - a must see for any film buff. The story of Bull McCabe captures the Irish mindset of the value of land above all things. From here, we will continue in a circular route towards Galway taking in views of the Sheefry Hills.

Spend an hour walking & sightseeing around vibrant Galway city before departing for Dublin. Visit the main shopping district, walk to the harbour and see the Spanish Arch. Galway is a bohemian city with a very young population. It is also home to the famous Claddagh ring. Learn about this historical town and the '14 tribes of Galway'. This was the last place Christopher Columbus visited before making his way to the West Indies.

Arrive back in Dublin to reminisce about your fun filled adventure in the beautiful Connemara region!
