07:15  -   DEPART DUBLIN

We meet at the Molly Malone statue on Suffolk Street (map is linked on our booking page). You’ll board our comfortable coach, meet our legendary guide and fellow adventurers, then head west out of Dublin. There are quaint villages, lush countryside and even some castle ruins to see as we head towards Caherconnell Fort. You'll be crossing the width of Ireland this morning! See the beautiful Corcomroe Abbey in the heart of the Burren built from the traditional limestone of the area. It was founded by Cistercian monks around 1195.  The church consists of a nave with an aisle on the south side. It appears that it was intended to construct a similar aisle on the north side of the nave, but this may never have been completed.  The church is surrounded by high limestone hills in what is a breathtaking landscape.

11:10 -  AILWEE CAVES

The Ailwee Caves in the heart of the Burren is Ireland’s premier caves system and a real treat for anyone who enters.  The cave system is the largest in Ireland and has a treasure chest of both stalactites and stalagmites.  This is a spectacular guided tour into this underground world that will amaze you at every corner.

Not everyday do you get to see a 5000 year old burial tomb, even older than the Pyrmids!  This stop at Pounabrone Tomb or dolmen will get you up close to a structure build by man 3600 BC !  The site was excavated in 1986 and produced human remains 16 adults and children with some artifacts.

1:15 - LUNCH - Doolin

It's time for lunch, so we head to Doolin - a beautiful village famed for its traditional music on the edge of the Atlantic. We usually go to Fitzpatrick’s Pub where the seafood is particularly good. If you like seafood, the food should leave you very satisfied. Don’t worry if you are not a fan of seafood, there are plenty of other options available.  ( lunch not included )

Now you will get to walk the cliff tops to view the Cliffs of Moher from its iconic standpoint.  You will have access to the visitors center to learn about the history of the local area, the flora, fauna and geology.  The Cliffs Of Moher is Ireland’s most popular natural site and once you stand looking at this awesome natural wonder you’ll understand why !

After your amazing adventure to the edge of the world and back you can reminisce about your wonderful day back in Dublin.  If you would like to explore more of the emerald isle and it's natural and cultural treasures you can take a look at

Premium Cliffs of Moher Day tour - Best Tour guide ever!

We did the Premium cliffs of Moher Tour with James! He was excellent, probably one of the best tour guides I have seen. He is very knowledgeable and shares interesting, quirly information about Ireland. He was patient, fun, entertaining and very pleasant. Will recommend the tour to all my friends and family.

Cliffs of Moher Premium Tour
I booked this tour because I have done three other tours in past visits with this company and have enjoyed them. Although we rented a car this visit, we wanted to give my dad a break from driving and knew parking can be a premium at the Cliffs. We were scheduled for this tour earlier in the week and my sister suddenly came down ill during the night prior to the scheduled bus departure of 7 am. I tried calling the number, but at 5-6 a.m. there was nobody on the line. I walked with my mom down to the meeting point and staff could not have been more helpful and let us reschedule the visit for two days later. We were not expecting this sort of flexibility and had been prepared to have my mom and I go on the trip and rebook for my sister and dad later in the week. We were very glad they let us reschedule so we could share this experience together.

Our tour guide was Tony, who was entertaining on the bus with Irish stories and songs. He tried his best to make the experience a unique one for us. He took us to a local restaurant in Doolin that had really great fish & chips. The ferry ride was beautiful & we enjoyed our walk along the cliffs.

My friends and I did the premium Day Trip to Cliffs of Moher and had such a memorable experience. James was a very lovely and knowledgeable tour guide. Everything went smoothly and was so well planned. I will definitely use Irish Day Trips on my next trip to Dublin!
