Belfast Day Tour from Dublin Itinerary

8:00am : Depart Dublin

We will meet at the Molly Malone statue (on Suffolk Street). Your guide will introduce himself and give a breakdown of the day's events. We will drive north out of Dublin with your guide giving you information along the way. You'll get a short breakdown of the history of Northern Ireland (you'll get a much more detailed account in Belfast).

10:30am : Titanic experience

you will get to see the highlight of the tour, the Titanic Experience Tour.  Here you will learn all about Titanic’s tragic maiden voyage across the atlantic.

1:30pm : Peace Wall & political taxi tour

We visit West Belfast, which is comprised of 'Loyalists' (allegiance to the Queen) on one side and 'Republicans' (those who want a united Ireland) on the other. Your local guide will take you on a political taxi tour and show you the dividing wall called 'The Peace Wall' - a wall forcing peace by separation. We will endeavor to explain how the troubles began and how things are today. The wall murals tell stories of both unionists and republicans. We are the only company to take in the Republican Museum (closed Sunday and Monday), which has a large amount of prison artefacts and prisoner handicraft as well as a research library and audio visual exhibitions. This is a unique place, so make the most of it!

Next, we travel to East Belfast to visit the Harland and Wolff shipyard, one of the biggest in the U.K. in its time. Many ships were launched from this yard, most famously the Titanic. You might have heard of it!

3:00pm : Free Time Belfast

Take some time for yourself to explore the city and grab a bite to eat. Below are some suggestions on what to see:

  • The Crown Liquor Saloon is charming. Its wooden partitions and ornate Victorian exterior belong to an old world.
  • If culture is for you, the Grand Opera house and St. Anne's cathedral (also known as Belfast Cathedral) are worth a visit, check out its magnificent organ, the biggest in Northern Ireland, and find out about the 'black santa.'
  • Belfast has its own leaning tower! The Albert Memorial Clock.
  • For the history buff, the Linen Hall Library is worth a visit. This is the oldest library in Belfast. It has the definitive collection archiving the troubles with over 250,000 items in the political section.
  • Donegal Square and City Hall is the landmark site in the centre of Belfast. This impressive building is the heart of the city and was where president Clinton addressed the citizens of Northern Ireland in 1995.

7:15pm : Arrive back to Dublin

We will arrive back in Dublin. Sit back and relax, chat about the day and listen to some traditional Irish music along the way.

Trip to Belfast

Took the Belfast tour with Kevin. Found him to be an extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous guide.

Tour was excellent. Highlights included visiting the downtown core of Belfast (City Hall exhibit is free and incredible), the murals on the peace walls, and the Titanic District.

I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about Irish history and in seeing an incredible city

Fascinating Day"

We really enjoyed our Belfast day trip from Dublin. Daithi was our tour guide and we found him to be full of information and very entertaining. He gave us good context in which to view the great city of Belfast. Throughout the bus ride we were entertained by Daithi's stories and Irish music. Daithi's love and interest in Irish music was an added bonus in our view. Despite the rain, we had a great day in Belfast.

Very Interesting

Enjoyed the tour and our guide Dave. We learned so much about Irish history both recent and ancient. Visiting the neighborhoods around the Peace Wall and the Irish Republican History Museum is just a piece of history. The HMS Caroline is good for history buffs. The Titanic site visit is a bit commercial but well done. It has some good info on the story of Belfast.

“Belfast Tour”

A must see if you are new to Ireland or if you have not gone before. Our driver and commentator had an impressive command of Irish history especially as it related to political unrest. Although the light cruiser, Caroline, was being painted and we could not go in; we did get to explore the expansive dry dock and pumphouse which relates to the Titanic.
The Titanic experience was truly amazing.
Highly recommend this day trip

Fantatic day trip to Belfast

Trip Advisor - 5 stars - Reviewed June 2016

My 18 yo son and I took this day trip primarily because my son really wanted to see Belfast. It turned out to be the best day trip from Dublin for both us. Our guide Caroline was thorough, professional, and funny without being over the top as some tour guides can be and she gave us some great jokes to share back in the states. She made my son Jim feel very welcome which was especially nice since he was the only one under 50 on the tour. We enjoyed the day and learned alot as well. Having the smaller group of 16 is also a very big plus.

Best Belfast guide. Darren

We had the best day ,with a lot of interesting history and felt very well keep for. It was very intimate,as we were a small group of People . And Darren wasn't knocked out even when there was the Belfast marathon, and all the roads were blocked in the town center . He still managed to give us a great day . Thank you very much. Looking forward to our trip to the cliff of moher tomorrow.
