Cliffs of Moher Day Tour From Dublin

Jump aboard our tour bus, and meet friendly and inquisitive fellow adventurers for our trip to one of Ireland's 7 Wonders: The Cliffs Of Moher. When holidaying in Ireland, this wonderful Cliffs of Moher day trip is one not to be missed. Like the Irish weather, as well as because of it, this site can be different on a daily basis and like yourselves, we always look forward to coming here. The Cliffs of Moher are the most visited natural attraction in Ireland. Come and see for yourself the rugged beauty of this natural attraction and discover why it is such a popular location to visit for tourists and locals alike.

We have informative, fun loving tour guides who will enhance your day with wit and charm. Travel to the end of the world (well - to the edge of Ireland's wild west coast) and back in one day with us. As we visit the different sites, we will inform you on the local plants, wildlife and the fascinating history of the Cliffs of Moher and the surrounding area.

You will experience beautiful vistas with sweeping views along the cliffs. There are views of the Aran Islands on a clear day as you walk along one of Ireland's most famous geographical landmarks. After a breath-taking walk on the cliffs, we will visit the Burren, a limestone/karst region of Ireland. It is a fascinating ecosystem and you will get to walk along the rocky landscape and view the amazing flora and fauna that grow in this region. Try your hand at climbing up onto the hill as you navigate the clints and grykes of this karst surface. Can you find the wonderful orchids that only grow in this botanists' playground?

We have lunch in the beautifully scenic Doolin. After lunch, we will drive along the coastline stopping at places of outstanding beauty and historic relevance such as Corcomroe Abbey, built in the 12th century. We will travel along the Wild Atlantic Way and our last stop before we make our way back to Dublin is the harbour village of Kinvara. Here you are rewarded with lovely views over the bay and Dunguaire Castle.

Itinerary Cliffs of Moher Tour From Dublin

6:50am : Depart Dublin

We meet at the Molly Malone Statue on Suffolk Street (the map is on the booking page). We recommend you arrive at the departure point at least 10 minutes early. Our tours leave on time so please be there with plenty of time to spare before the departure time. Your guide will introduce himself to you and all the other adventurous travellers. Sit back and relax on our comfortable coach as we make our way to the west coast, passing charming towns, villages and lush countryside along the way.

11:00am : Cliffs Of Moher

We arrive at the Cliffs of Moher where we have the chance to explore this beautiful landmark. Take in the amazing vistas from this vantage point. You have an hour and a half to take in all that the cliffs have to offer. Walk along the cliff tops, see O'Brien's Tower and admire this scenic location. Included in the price is entrance to the Cliffs and an interactive presentation which is shown in the visitors centre. There is also a gift shop for the shoppers amongst you! Take your time and enjoy the landscape as this is the highlight of your tour. These magnificent formations will leave an unforgettable impression on your mind and will no doubt be one of the highlights of your visit to Ireland.

12:45pm : Lunch Doolin

After our morning walk, it's time for lunch, so we head to Doolin - a beautiful village famed for its traditional music. It is also famed for its delicious food. We usually go to Fitzpatrick’s Pub where the seafood is particularly good. If you like seafood, the food should leave you very satisfied. Don’t worry if you are not a fan of seafood, there are plenty of other options available. Relax and enjoy your meal as soon, we'll be getting on the bus again for more adventure and scenic views.

2:00pm : The Burren

Once lunch is finished, we will go for a short trek around the Burren, a karst/limestone area with a unique ecosystem producing beautiful wild orchids. The word "Burren" comes from an Irish word, "Boíreann," meaning a rocky place. An appropriate name! Admire the view from the top of the hill if you’re game to walk up the rocky hill face to the top. You can also walk down to the cliffs to see the ocean swirling beneath you. Just don’t step too close to the edge! It is almost like taking a walk on the moon as you traverse the lunar surface. After a drive through one of Ireland's national parks, you will visit Corcomroe Abbey, a 12th century abbey set in lush green surroundings. The architecture and stone carvings are an impressive sight, taking us back into historic times. You can walk inside the abbey, it is a ruin but quite well preserved and home to lovely carvings.

3:30pm : Views at Kinvara

We are now on the last leg of the journey with one last stop for a photo opportunity at the charming village of Kinvara. From here you can see Dunguaire Castle. Walk over if you get a chance for some excellent photo opportunities. There is a beautiful view over Galway Bay and the historic Dunguaire Castle and you may choose to sit at a cafe and simply enjoy the view. We'll then get back on the bus and commence our journey back to Dublin. We hope to return no later than 7pm.

7:00pm : Arrive back in Dublin

We arrive back in Dublin having experienced the stunning views of Ireland's west coast and seeing the #1 most visited natural attraction in Ireland.

Our tour guide was Bud and he was amazing. He was very entertaining, very funny and made everyone felt safe and welcome. He made sure we were having a great time and made sure we had enough time to do everything we needed to do. I would definitely do the trip with him again

Cliffs of Moher Tour - Fabulous"

Trip Advisor - 5 Stars - Reviewed November 2016

Great trip - very long day - 12 hours, but highly entertaining and informative. Our guide, Mike Murphey, provided lots of information, was very funny and friendly and kept the tour moving along without feeling really rushed. The Cliff of Moher are absolutely amazing - and with 1.5 hours there, you have time to do quite a bit of exploring. You also make a couple of other stops - which are interesting and have lunch at a wonderful pub in Doolin. Absolutely recommend this tour and this company.

"Cliffs of Moher - Worth Seeing

Trip Advisor - 5 Stars - Reviewed November 2016

Before the trip I was worried about the weather as the place could have been foggy and it was a long bus trip from Dublin. Thank God it was sunshine when we arrived there 11 am as scheduled. The driver, Tony? was courteous and professional. He was very knowledgeable too. I would like to recommend this tour to visitors of Ireland. Of course you need the blessing of fine weather.

Daytrip to Cliffs of Moher"

Trip Advisor - 5 Stars - Reviewed November 2016

We did the Cliffs of Moher 12 hour bus trip with Gerald. We had a fantastic time! It was even better than I expected. We were in a small your bus and were able to stop in many small villages along the coast and really grasp the Irish culture and the picturesque landscape. Gerald was punctual and extremely knowledgable on the sites, history or Ireland and culture/language.

"Always a great experience"

Trip Advisor - 5 stars - Reviewed November 2016

This made my 3 trip to Ireland, and 3rd time to use Extreme Ireland for a tour out of Dublin - I love this company. Great service, tour guides are always friendly, tours are always great, I've not been able to do all of them yet, but eventually! They make it simple & easy, with easy meeting/pick up locations in the city center. The day tours are a great, affordable way to see different parts of Ireland while making it back Dublin in time for dinner!
