Hi Keith
We had an incredible tour. Our walks were outstanding. Terence and Derek took us to amazing places that we would not have found on our own. Each of the four days was very special and unique.
We had a great time with both Derek and Terence. We had great experiences that were approached at our own pace. The kids really enjoyed the tour. Terence in particular really was great with the kids. He was also very skillful at coming up with great alternatives when the ferry to the blasket islands was canceled and the cliffs trail was closed.
The accommodations were good. The hotel people at both places were as nice as could be.
When I get back to chicago I will put some glowing comments in the online reviews of your tours.
Thanks for everything.

We went on the Cliffs of Moher tour with Joey. Easily my favorite day out of
the full month I have been in Ireland. Joey was a TERRIFIC tour guide and I will recommend this tour to all of my
traveling friends

Keith, I just wanted to report how great the day tour of the Cliffs of Moher was. My husband and I were in Ireland for 10 days and we did many tours of Ireland...but none were as good as yours!! Derek was an awesome guide and he was very easy going. This tour and the company made for the best day in Ireland for our vacation. I highly recommend the Cliffs of Moher tour!!! Thanks for everything!!!

Hi Keith
back from my Irish adventure and wanted to thank you for all you did to answer our concerns on the road. Thanks for the arrangements you made in Letterfrack and the B&B in Inis Mor was just lovely. I really want to commend Emily as well. What a terrific guide and lovely person she is - she took exceptional care of us and really went above and beyond. She was encouraging and had a real wealth of knowledge and experience and seemed genuinely interested in getting us to see the true heart of the country. Anyone who tours with Emily is very lucky.
So thanks again for everything and all the best,
Linda

Hi Keith
A quick email to say a BIG thanks to yourself and to Joey (definitely the most knowledgeable guide we've met!). Great time and we will recommend you to others.
All best wishes

I want to thank you and your staff for setting up our trekking trip on the Dingle Way. Everything worked out great. The B&B’s were all nice – some better than others, but all nice. The best B&B was the Coill an Rois in Feohanagh. Jimmy is a wonderful host and great chef. Our stay there was one of the highlights of the trip.
The maps and information you provided were very helpful. Everyday our luggage was delivered in good shape. Being able to shower and change clothes was a welcome relief.
Emily was great. She met us at the airport and got us situated in Tralee in good shape. At precisely 0630 Friday morning, she pulled into the driveway at the B&B to pick us up and deliver us back to Shannon. She said she arrived in Castlegregory early to ensure she was on time. She was wonderful company during both drives.
From my viewpoint, the other highlight of the trip was the challenge of the leg between Feohanagh and Cloghene. Fortunately it was a dry day, but the saddle between Masatiompan and Piaras Mor was shrouded in clouds. That added to the mystic. It also was an aid during the climb to the saddle. You could not see the crest so you climbed from one trail marker to the next marker breaking the climb up into increments.
We met some interesting people along the Way. We were able to visit the Great Blasket Island during our stay in Dingle. We met a woman who lives out there from April to October. She pointed out the significant buildings on the island. That was interesting.
Thank you again. It was a memorable experience that I will treasure the rest of my life, and you and your staff facilitated it.
Sincerely,
Jerry Paull

Thank you so much for having us the other week. Beth and I had a great time climbing with you guys! Pat was an amazing guide and we both had a lot of fun. The rain was unfortunate, but it is Ireland, so wasn't terribly surprising! If any of you or your staff are ever one the east coast of the US, let us know; we'd be happy to put you in contact with some locals. We have some decent climbing near Philadelphia and some great climbing a few hours away in NY (the Gunks). A good friend of mine lives there, so we can show you around! We have a bunch of pictures from our day on my website at: kisafrogg.smugmug.com (under the Ireland album). The climbing pics should all be on the first few pages. If there are any that you want full resolution copies of (for your webiste or promo material), just let me know, I'd be happy to send them over to you.
Thanks again for a fantastic day; hopefully we'll see you again on our next trip!

PS- tell pat we were counting magpies for the rest of the trip.
Extreme Ireland gave us exactly what we were looking for - personalized service, great support, fantastic hiking and wonderful accommodations, not to mention the fine and friendly people we met! You are guaranteed to have a great time!
Best of luck,

From the moment we stepped off the plane all of our problems and worries disappeared. Not only was EVERYTHING taken care of by the outstanding crew of guides that we met but there is something relaxing about Ireland itself. Day one was a whirlwind of events from one great hike to another (which by the way felt great after being cramped on a plane for however many hours). Bray Head gave us a great view of Dublin and the English Channel - there we immediately learned that at the top of every peak there is a cross and I'm sure God hears all of the prayers made in Ireland. From there we checked out Glendalough which was even more spectacular than the books say it is. Particularly cool was the fact that we didn't have to bring any books with us or look at any plaques to learn the history of the area as our guide, Mike, was well versed in his history and proved to be a great raconteur. Strangers were flocking to our little group just to hear him speak. (By the way Keith's little saying at the end of every email is absolutely true - there are no strangers in Ireland just friends you haven't met.) One word of advise when hiking in the Wicklow Mountains wear gaiters - sure wish I had! Dinner by the peat fire at the bed and breakfast with Katherine was a step back in time - food never tasted better and the rooms were great (make sure you ask her to sing for you).
Some of the best walks and photos we took were in the Dingle area. The hike with Britta was awesome - make sure you ask her about the edible plants and the native birds if you are lucky enough to have her as your guide. She took us to a really well preserved beehive hut where we picked up a sense of what the countryside was like. The Dingle pubs were by far the most fun (especially when you can catch a Munster rugby match on the big screen.) Bed and breakfast was conveniently located walking distance to everything in town (including a green road that will take you to a great lookout spot for Fungi). The walk around Slea Head was my favourite. The ocean is a breathtaking blue that could rival the Caribbean - though a bit colder.
Keith #2 took us up Ireland's highest peak. This was definitely worth the climb, with the best views in the country. The cross on the top of the mountain was covered in frost with a dusting of snow and the rich contrasting colors of the countryside backdrop made for the best photo in our album. The most challenging part of the climb 'Devils ladder' was also the most fun. Just follow the sheep - if they can make it so can you.
Hi Keith
Martina and I would like to say Thank you to you.
We enjoyed the whole trip to the Cliffs and also the walk. You were a perfect guide and we had a lot of fun (despite my horrible “English” - but I´ll practise for our next trip to Ireland)
On our next journey to Ireland, I´m sure we will see us again at a tour with more action – perhaps climbing!
Have a nice time in Germany at the outdoor fair in Munic and especially when you climb the “Zugspitze” (If you have the possibility, please choose the way through the “Höllentalklamm” I think this will satisfy your expectations)
Many Thanks and Best Regards.
Stephan and Martina
Blarney castle was a must see and the lodgings in Kilkenny were quite luxurious
The hike up Crough Patrick was inspirational. Not sure if this is just an Extreme-Ireland thing or a Mike thing but they don't seem to believe in going back the same way they came (whether there is a trail or not). Excellent philosophy as you get to see twice as much that way. Wish I could follow that rule back home in the Adirondack Mountains of NY - but it's quite a challenge here. This was also the day that we learned of Mike's sheep herding talents (one of the many perks of being raised on a farm).
We had the extreme tour of the Cliffs of Moher. Many poor tourists were limited to one small lookout point to view the cliffs but our tour took us off the beaten path and we were able to walk along the cliffs for a few miles on a beautiful sunny day with the wind at our backs. That's when I truly realized that this was the best tour company I could have chosen.
We finished up our trip in the Hills of Connemara - a quiet little place with beautiful sunrises and lonely beaches. A great place to slow down and let everything sink in before heading back to reality. I will forever be indebted to both Keiths, Mike and Britta for giving us the trip of a lifetime.
Thanks for everything especially fortaking us in the off season - it truly was everything we had hoped for and more.

I had a very good time . I enjoyed tremendously the challenge of hiking, the opportunity to know the country and the people through a different and unconventional way.
Keith does a very good job in maintaining a professional guide, knowing the each and every curve of the way, and delivering the goods.
As to your questions:
I would recommend Extreme Ireland, and would go again on one of their tours.
The tour was much more than what I expected. It was my first time being engaged in such an experience and I was delighted with the consequences.
The accommodations are what they are, Hostels. I am not familiar with these kinds of accommodations elsewhere and for me they were a surprise. Some were better than the others. The people who go on the trip should know what they are in for in details. Maybe shown pictures of the places they are going to stay in, so that they will be ready for the experience.
For myself I would rather have a room with a personal bathroom and toilet and not a shared one.
I think for my next trip in Ireland I would like to try the B.B formula since they look so nice from the roads.
The Guide knows Ireland from all aspects. Very professional in regard to hiking. Knows all roads and paths as if they are the back path of his home. He is knowledgeable about the history, politic, social structure of Ireland. Has a great sense of humor. Knows lots and lots of people around, so that he can add that special flavor of introducing you to that extra touch of experiencing a country and it's people. Has a great love for music so that you are introduced to that aspect too. And on top of that all he his a generous person.
I hope this will help in choosing your right path.

Hi Keith
I just wanted to thank you for a great day. We got a lot of positive feedback on the Irish Theme Games. You even arranged for some good weather ;-)
Thanks for your contribution to a great weekend in Dublin!
In a few weeks we'll make a selection of the many pictures taken en will send them over to you.
Maybe it's nice to know that two persons bought themselves a few hurling sticks and have actually played some with it to.
Kind regards
Met vriendelijke groet

We are just back from our tour with Extreme Ireland and are still on a high. I just want to thank you all in Extreme Ireland for an amazing holiday. It was our first holiday in Ireland and we were apprehensive about going on a guided hiking tour as we had never gone on one before. Usually independent travelers! However from the minute that we picked up we never felt so comfortable as we did with Mike and Keith our two guides over the 15 days. We had Mike for the first 7 days and he was very entertaining. Good singer and kind of cute: thank you Mike for a fabulous time and telling us all the stories and jokes. Some of the sites you brought us too nearly bring tears to my eyes when I look back. You feel so free when you are out on the hills walking. For the last 8 days Keith took over the tour and we did the whole Northern part of Ireland. Keith was an excellent guide. He knows the mountains like his own home, was very calm and collected in all situations. Even when we were tired on the Slieve League hike he kept our spirits up all the time and the achievement we felt at the end of the holiday was thanks to him. Thank you Keith. Spotty Dog: All our accommodation and transport needs were looked after perfectly. We were very comfortable in the evening. I will recommend Extreme Ireland to all my friends and family for next year.
Bless you all,

Thanks to Keith and the crew at extreme Ireland for a great day out at the Cliffs of moher.
I have just got back and we want to compliment you on a very enjoyable day. Last time I had been was as a kid (I have my memories, although not to vivid).
It was anything but repetitive second time around.
I am considering trying the next Full moon walk you have going, so maybe see you there.
Thanks again!

We have just been checking out your site (Again) recently and it reminded us of our holiday in Ireland (Connemara trip) with Extreme Ireland this summer. It prompted us to get out our photos and think about this summer’s holiday, Bank Account permitting!
It was an experience from beginning to end. The few days on Aran Island really made it for me although the whole thing did live up to expectation. We heard weather there is “changeable” – we were warned! It really only gave the Connemara walking experience the moody Irish setting we hoped it would be. We have quite a bit of sun, so we didn’t mind the change. Although we heard you had some earlier in the year so maybe we will time it earlier this year to avoid some of the rain.
!
Thank you, Happy Christmas to you all and maybe see you soon.

I have just come back from a walking tour with Extreme Ireland and I have to say it was breathtaking. The tour was the Emerald tour which was 15 days long and still not enough to see Ireland. We have seen some of the most amazing places and people on this tour. Our guides Keith and Mike are true Gaelic warriors:-) They are excellent guides with a great knowledge of the countryside and I felt safe with them everywhere we went. I will recommend Extreme Ireland to all my friends in Canada!
Thank you to all at Extreme Ireland

My wife and i holidayed with Extreme Ireland last Summer. We want to thank Keith & Mike for a great holiday.
We Choose the Emerald Isle Tour, Feeling active, enthuastic and not being complete novices. We had always wanted to do some hiking in Ireland, and when we began to do some research a friend recommended the Extreme Ireland Website having taken their Northern Gem tour the year before.
We really enjoyed our time Hiking in Ireland .It certainly gave us a good overall knowledge of the place.
We had previuosly been to Ireland with our kids on a self catering Holiday in Kerry as its not an easy option hiking with kids. (i have read about people walking & hiking with kids... But i'm not so brave)
We found some of the hike a bit of a challenge , But the sense of accomplishment far outweighted this.
Keith & Mike made the whole trip very enjoyable and i cannot speak for my wife but i think she agrees when i say
it was the a great combination of activity & holiday toghther. We will be saving to come again in the future.
So thank you very much andd keep up the good work!

Hi! Just wanted to drop in and say that my daughter and I had the most amazing time with Patrick last week on our Cliffs of Moher trip. He was so great. It was just Sarah and I on the way back in and he went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and showing us as much as he could of what the Burrens etc had to offer. We almost made him late for his Bob Dylan concert. I said I would add him on facebook but there are just too many Patrick Doyles. He also said you had an Extreme Ireland group I would love to join. Please ask Patrick to add me instead. I would love to keep in touch! Thanks again for a wonderful adventure. Next time I am in Ireland I will assuredly be using your company again!

Hi Keith
I just wanted to say thanks for a really great time last week and for the exclusive treatment! It’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time and was a perfect mix of challenge and chill-out. It’s fair to say I hadn’t ever considered scrambling, rock-climbing or abseiling, but was delighted to have the opportunity and will no doubt jump at the chance again. Thanks for humouring me on the slopes and taking me to some truly breath-taking spots off the beaten track – the perfect remedy for big-city-burn-out. I’m sure I’ll be back for more hiking in Ireland before too long – I’ll look you up!
All the best,
Catherine
