Giants Causeway Day Tour From Dublin

Join us on our uniquely structured tour to one of Ireland’s 7 wonders, which is also one of the northernmost points in Ireland. As we drive along the eastern coast, you will have the opportunity to learn about some of Ireland's turbulent history while enjoying views of this beautiful coastline.

The Giants Causeway is listed as Ireland’s first World Heritage site and is only one of the many reasons why you honestly can’t pass up the opportunity of joining us for such a magical experience! Our guides are fully equipped with fun-loving humour, wisdom and of course, Irish charm which will keep you coming back for more exciting adventures!

Take in the genuine beauty of the causeway while exploring the various stone formations and crevices that are engulfed with fascinating history as well as mysterious Irish folklore.

Now, the only question is can you look fear in the eye by courageously crossing the legendary “Carrick-a-Rede” rope bridge? The price for this is conveniently included! You can also take a refreshing stroll down to the charming beachfront sweeping out onto Whitepark Bay and Portbradden. The scenery inspires deep amazement. The northern coastline of County Antrim is steeped in ancient history and mythology, which you’re able to discover on your memorable one day tour to the Giants Causeway with us.

The series ‘Game of Thrones’ has developed a great interest in certain locations in Northern Ireland for the mysterious atmosphere and scenic views. One of these is the Dark Hedges. We pass by this well-known road hedged by 200 year old beech trees. The other is Dunluce Castle; our route passes the castle so we can enjoy views of the seat of the MacDonnell clan.

Giants Causeway Day Tour Itinerary

6:30am : Depart Dublin

We meet you at the Molly Malone Statue located on Suffolk Street (a map is available on the booking page). Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the departure time. From there, we will head north out of Dublin city towards Belfast.

10:00am : Dark Hedges

Our first sight of the day is the Dark Hedges. This fantastic stretch of road was planted with beech trees by James Stuart in the 1700s. The intertwining trees create an amazing spectacle and have been featured in the Game of Thrones. Click here for more details on the Dark Hedges.

10:30am : Carrick-a-Rede

We arrive at the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge where we will spend an hour. The bridge is a 20 minute walk from the car park giving you the chance to enjoy views of the Irish coastline and build up the nerve to cross the bridge. The rope bridge is run by the National Trust and your fee for crossing is included in the price of the tour. The views from the bridge are second to none with views of Rathlin Island, Sheep Island and even as far as Scotland's coast. The scenery is spectacular and is a favourite of many of our clients.

12:00pm : Giants Causeway

We then start our journey towards the Giants Causeway passing through the picturesque village of Ballintoy. Your guide will inform you about the Irish legend associated with the Causeway’s creation. The Giants Causeway is the highlight of the day and we spend at least an hour and a half exploring this spectacular feature. We recommend that you walk the cliff top on your way to the Causeway as this affords the best views. Your guide will take you to a local bar or cafe for lunch (not included in the price) or you can enjoy a packed lunch as you take in the scenery. We guarantee that you won’t want to leave the beautiful coastline, basalt columns of the causeway and views of the dramatic cliffs created through volcanic activity millions of years ago.

2:30pm : View of Dunluce Castle

After taking in the views and creating unforgettable memories, we start our journey towards the grand city of Belfast. Our route takes us past Dunluce Castle, the most romantic castle in all of Ireland, which was home to the McDonnell Clan for many years. Dunluce Castle has also been referred to as the primary inspiration for CS Lewis’s fictional castle ‘Cair Paravel’ which was established in his popular series, “The Chronicles of Narnia.” In addition, we’ll be passing through the spirited town of Bushmills where Ireland’s very first hydro power plant was built as well as being the proud makers of a world famous brand of whiskey!

4:00pm : Belfast

Once we’ve arrived at the notable city of Belfast, you’ll be allotted 90 minutes to go about sightseeing at your own convenience. We recommend visiting the main shopping district for souvenirs, The Crown Saloon and the Belfast City Hall among others. Another option is to do the Black Taxi tour (not included). You can let your guide know in advance of reaching Belfast and he will have a taxi waiting for you to commence the tour when we arrive. The tour is approximately 1 hour.

7:30pm : Return To Dublin

After this day packed with unique experiences and being immersed into Irish landscapes and mythology, we will head back to Dublin and arrive to reminisce about all of the exciting highlights!

Giants Causeway Tour Reviews

I went on a Giant's Causeway tour today and it was incredible. Loved every minute of it, even the rain. :There's so many amazing places to see. And I didn't even realize how lucky I was to be there, until I got home, sat down and got that wow moment! I was really there! Jennifer and Larry were such great hosts! Thanks Larry for not crashing us and for waiting our slow a*ses, even if we were a little bit late (but seriously, don't do this people, because it's not nice). Thanks Jennifer for your great stories and valuable information! The woman has a great sence of humor (cups for women, plastic bands for men :D) and is a great storyteller! Thanks for making my day :)

We were on the Giants Causeway tour this past sunday (31st July) with tour guide David and we had a great time! Not only were the places beautiful, but also David was a really nice guide, always explaining everything about them, telling the popular Irish stories behind all those natural treasures and checking if everyone was on the bus afterwards (and if not, he would try and find them or at least would wait a bit more for the ones missing). We would definitely recommend this day tour! Thank you David!

Great tour of the Giant's Causeway and surrounding Northern Ireland. The itinerary and stops were extremely well timed and thought out - from coffee at 8am to pre-ordered lunch at the pub to not waste time. Beautiful destinations, rich history, comfortable accommodations.
Took our group of 12 North with Jennifer and John and they were amazing with our all ages group from toddler to grandparents. Jennifer was warm, insightful and funny with that true Irish wit that shines through. A great way to spend a very full day.

Had such a great time on the Giant's Causeway tour we decided to take another trip - to the Cliffs of Moher. Good itinerary, very knowledgeable and entertaining driver/guide (thanks Wayne). I learned so much about Irish history whilst seeing beautiful scenery and having a laugh. Will definitely be trying some of the other tours on my next visit to Dublin. Totally recommend anyone to try at least one of the tours.

Our second tour with this Company. It was brilliant. We were in Northern Ireland at Giants Causeaway, Carrick-A-Rede-Bridge and short stop at Belfast for Shopping, drinking Guinness or what else. Weather was perfect, sun was shining and really warm. My 14 th visit in Ireland but never had such weather during my whole trip.
Our tour guide and bus Driver Owen was very friendly, funny and told us lots of interesting things.
Will def. book again when I´m back in Ireland soon. Thanks

We traveled from Dublin to Northern Ireland. The scenery was extraordinary, especially Giant's Causeway and Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge. Our amazing tour guide Liam was extremely helpful and provided us with the information we wanted, while making sure everything was running smoothly.

"Giant's Causeway, Carrick, Belfast Tour"
Trip Advisor - 5 Stars - Reviewed 23 April 2015

I signed up for this tour last minute the night before as I had seen a lot of Dublin and was looking to get out of the city and this was easily the best decision I could have made. The price and time of trip is fantastic. I thought over 12 hours might be pushing it when I signed up but it was perfect. Our driver was very nice and really informative about the places we visited. The views from the Carrick-a-Rede bridge and Giant's Causeway were incredible. My only complaint was that we got a little more time to spend in Belfast as what I saw I really enjoyed. But all together this trip was fun and highly recommended.
