Seaweed Baths

seaweed baths 1 seaweed baths 2 seaweed baths 3

Imagine relaxing back into a big bath full of hot seawater and seaweed. The heat releases all the seaweed's rich, silky essential oils so your body feels smooth, buoyant and luxurious. Tiredness, tension, aches and pains slip away.

Seaweed Baths re-hydrate and moisture skin, and relieve certain conditions like psoriasis, acne and dry skin: helps speed the healing of wounds and burns; aid back and muscular pain; ease rheumatism and arthritis, and assist circulation.

As hot seawater is so similar to body plasma, soaking in it helps eliminate toxins from the body and absorb minerals and elements from the sea; and as seaweed is like concentrated, pure seawater-no additives remember! -Nature at its best making you feel like a new person! One of life's simple pleasures. Go on, take the plunge, you deserve it!

  6. Forget expensive creams, Seaweed baths are great for their anti-wrinkle effects.
  7. If your looking for a leave in conditioner for your hair try soaking your hair in the seaweed baths for 5-10 mins. You will immediately notice the silky feeling.
  8. On a regular basis (once a week) Seaweed baths help clear up eczema and other such dry skin conditions.
  9. The steam units are not essential to a successful seaweed bath, as your pores will open in hot water of the bath.
  10. And if you are just looking for a plain old Pampering, the Seaweed Baths is just the thing for you.

Extreme Ireland is proud to count as one of our long time friends Celtic Seaweed baths in Strandhill Co. Sligo.

Located on the esplanade at Strandhill, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean, Celtic Seaweed Baths is an award winning family run business which has appeared on national and international television. The baths are hugely successful and amongst the most popular of Sligo's many attractions. Seaweed baths are an old tradition in County Sligo; the original bathhouse on this site was built early in the last century and was widely used by people from all around the area. That bathhouse was destroyed by hurricane Debbie in 1962 and the present building was developed with assistance from local funding bodies in 2000. The baths are in individual, private rooms, each with a steam unit. Hot seawater and fresh seaweed are used for each bath, and patrons can control the temperature of their bathwater.

Advice from Extreme Ireland is not to drink the tap water! We have all done it and what we didn't know was that the tap water is actually sea water!
